If you like the economy of the Bummis pant (or any pull up cover), but don't want to deal with pins, try the Snappi. Also recommended if you want to use prefolds with your newborn for a more snug fit at the legs.

It hooks the ends of your prefold diapers together with fasteners that are similar to the fasteners used in Ace bandages. You don't have to use pins and you are free to use any diaper cover that you wish.

If you are using a diaper cover that closes with velcro, you probably don't need to use a Snappi unless the cover is really roomy. If you are using a fitted diaper that fastens with snaps or velcro you do not need a Snappi. If you are using a pull on style cover or end up with a diaper that sags in your velcro closing cover, you may want to try a Snappi. They also work well with our contour diapers.

Before it's first use,
the Snappi has to be very well stretched to double its size. It is best
to hold Snappi in your hands, and stretch it gently at first, and then
more and more as it gives with each stretch. Then hold the two long legs
securely in one hand and stretch the third leg. The elasticity
will improve with each stretch while the unique material will return to
pretty much its original size after you let it go.

Lay out diaper, wide in the back,
narrow at the front.

Place baby on diaper, bring diaper up
through baby's legs. Fold diaper over (you can do this in the front or
back) if diaper is too long.

Hook the Snappi on the left back corner of the diaper.

Stretch the Snappi to about double its length over to the right side and hook the
right back corner of the diaper.

Stretch the middle hook of the Snappi down and fasten
for a snug fit. It should look like a 'Y'

Ready for a diaper cover!

Snappis need to be exercised before use.
  • Warm them up by stretching each leg as far as you can.
  • Stretch each leg a few more times, pulling the legs out as far as they will go each time.
  • The snappi is now ready to use.
  • When using them, pull out the legs as far as they will go before hooking the diaper.

Available in assorted colors in two sizes. Unstretched the baby size is 5 inches wide and the toddler size is 6.25 inches wide. The toddler size will stretch about 2 inches more in width than the baby size.

Made in South Africa out of 100% polyurethane - no latex or rubber. 2/pack
A close up of the Snappi hook.

Prefold diapers are so thick that the hook doesn't come near baby's skin. It only hooks the top two layers of diaper.

Customer Reviews

The advantages of the Snappi over pins are too numerous to name, but the top three are simplicity, safety, and efficacy. That diaper won't budge until the Snappi is removed!

This little thing is great! When you first get it out of the package it's a little stiff so you have to stretch it a bit before you use it. It holds tight and it's really simple to use.

I tried kushies AIOs with my first son and now that he is one and we have number 2 on the way I wanted to give cloth another try. I watched a youtube video on putting on a flat pre fold and they showed the snappi and my jaw dropped I never saw anything so quick and simple..the video was of a little girl putting a diaper on a doll! The only knowledge I had of the prefolds was watching my mom pin my brothers diapers on when I was little. This makes using prefolds so easy!
