- Diaper covers are the waterproof part of your two piece diapering system, the other part is the absorbent diaper.
- Pocket covers (or pocket diapers) come with an absorbent insert, please see the product description for more details. They have two layers of material, the inner layer that allows moisture to pass through while keeping your baby dry and an outer waterproof layer.
- Bummis Whisper Pant is a pull on style that works really well over all fitted diapers. Pull on styles have no snap or velcro closures. Instead they have stretchy binding that fits snugly at the legs and waist.
- We also carry disposable-shaped wraps in many styles that close with snaps or velcro. With most of the velcro closing covers you can use a prefold diaper without any fasteners. Contour and fitted diapers also work with velcro and snap closing covers.
- Your diaper covers can be reused several times before being washed, as long as they're clean.
- Most covers work better for some baby's shapes than others. Some are better for chubby babies, some are better for skinny babies, some don't work very well with fitted diapers or contour diapers and some don't work very well with prefolds. It's a good idea to try several to find out what works best for you. Having several different types of covers also means that your baby's skin isn't being rubbed in the same place every day by the cover. If you are looking to try one cover, I would try the Bummis Super Wrap or Thirsties Cover. Either one works well with most diapers and fits a wide range of babies.
- Covers that have two layers of fabric tend to stain less on the inside. The single fabric layer with the laminate can be wiped on the inside and can be used again (barring any messes).
