| Bummis original wrap is made out of 100% nylon with a polyurethane
waterproof coating. An interior mesh lining made of polyester helps keep the
diaper in place. The leg and waist binding is very soft lycra. This is a
great cover for hot weather because it is very lightweight. The medium size
and up have a 3" wide panel of velcro that is very durable. These
covers are best used during the day. The mesh liner can cause the cover to
wick moisture where the velcro is sewn down if the diaper gets too wet. Use
with prefold diapers, this cover doesn't fit
well over fitted diapers. The newborn size is made for small babies, like preemies
and multiples with a
narrow band of velcro. The small size is made to fit an average sized
newborn with a soft band of fabric at the top front of the diaper that helps
the cord heal. On the larger sizes, the velcro tabs are harder for your
little one to get off. Machine or hand wash, hang to dry. White only.
These covers also make nice swim diapers. When trying to decide upon a cover size, start with the suggested weights and then see if the waist, leg and rise measurements of your baby fall into the range of that cover. If you start with the measurements you may end up with a cover that is way too big. For all the velcro covers, you are looking for waist and leg measurements that fall in about the same place in the range. The smallest leg measurements were taken when the cover was fastened on the smallest waist setting. If your baby's waist measurement is on the lower end of the range and the leg measurement is on the higher end of the range, the cover will probably be too tight at the legs. I have been using these covers for over a year & a half - not exclusively but alot. They are showing wear but I am not as gentle with them as I probably should be. I have 4 of the mediums & they still fit my skinny 27lbs son. I wash them with the prefolds that I use - without pins or Snappi's. A good quality for the price.
