 Bumkins Diaper Covers |

 Description |

The manufacturer won't have more covers available to ship until the end of summer. In stock orders only until then.
Bumkins vented covers were my main daytime cover for all three of my kids. The covers are easy to use and they don’t
leak! I use them with prefold diapers during the day. It took me a long time
and a lot of money to find covers that were easy to use, that worked and were durable.
These easy-care diaper covers are the most leak proof ones around. Made out of
nylon with a waterproof laminate. No absorbent layers or trims, which means that wetness won't
"wick" onto baby's clothing, if you have ever tried a diaper
cover with cotton trim you know what a problem that can be. Built in air vent in the back of the cover limits any heat
build up.
The elastic is non-rubber based, so it will last for a long time
without wearing out. The waist back and legs have encased elastic on small
through extra large sizes. The newborn size has elastic at the legs. The front of the cover features a flap that covers up the stitching of loop part
of the Velcro® so that pee can’t wick up. The velcro tabs are made so that they can be crossed over for a better fit. Use with any prefold or contour
diaper (no pins required), these are cut narrow in the front and they don't work well with a
fitted diaper.

covers with a prefold diaper.
 Available in various
prints and white. Prints are sold as assorted, please let us select the prints for you.
.
These covers tend
to fit kids that have slender legs best. If you are using prefolds the infant 4x8x4 diapers will work in the small & newborn sizes. The medium will work with the regular 4x6x4 diapers. The large and extra large will work with the premium 4x8x4 diapers.
- Only one side of this diaper cover has a laundry tab. Please see our detailed pictures to see how to use them.
When trying to decide upon a cover size, start
with the suggested weights and then see if the waist, leg and rise measurements
of your baby fall into the range of that cover. If you start with the
measurements you may end up with a cover that is way too big. For all the velcro
covers, you are looking for waist and leg measurements that fall in about
the same place in the range. The smallest leg measurements were taken when
the cover was fastened on the smallest waist setting. If your baby’s waist
measurement is on the lower end of the range and the leg measurement is on
the higher end of the range, the cover will probably be too tight at the
legs.
Machine wash, line dry. Made in the USA by Bumkins.

Author: dineen@... We have been using Bumkins covers almost exclusively since baby was 2 months old he s 15 months now . Prior to that, we had purchased an assortment of newborn-sized covers to test out several different kinds. The Bumkins had the fewest leaks, adjust nicely, and most importantly in our household were preferred by Daddy over the other covers we tried including Bummis and Prowraps . These can get pretty darn soaked and still not leak. It is important to keep it snug at the waist. The double leg gussett is really great -- contains all but the very messiest poopy blowouts. We ve had maybe 3 true blowouts in over a year that weren t due to user read: daddy! error. The only reason I give these a 4 rather than a 5 is that they do tend to stain sun helps, but all my my covers have some staining .

Author: bmorehon@... I can not say how great these covers are. My slender little 2 yo fits in them perfectly. I wash them with my diapers but air dry them. The velcro still looks brand new. Actually the cover still looks new. Though the white ones show stains more then the prints. Prefolds seem to work the best for me.

Author: marawood2001@... These are excellently made diaper covers that are soft and do a great job at containing leaks and even the blowout poops. We only used them a few times, and I rated them a 4 only because they did not work for our baby, and even then, it was simply an issue of comfort. She is an extremely heavy wetter and is both large and chubby for her age (10 weeks). She used a size medium with a DSQ prefold and the absorbency and mess containment was no problem. BUT her big belly was always left with red marks from the sharp laundry tabs and her chubby thighs almost had welts from the tight elastic. I wish I had the patience to wait for the velcro to soften and the elastic to stretch (maybe) but I guess I don't. If these diapers had fit her better, they would definitely be the only covers we use because they work great.

Author: marie@... These worked great on both of my slender legged kids. Prefolds work the best with bumpkins covers, my fitted diapers did fit well in these covers.

Author: herakatgrl@... These covers are WATERPROOF!!! Also, they stand up to lots of washings. They are great if your baby has little legs like mine. The only reason I gave the 4 on performance is that I can't let my baby (21 months old and 21 pounds)sleep in one (we use a disposable), bc she is so wiggly that her clothes manage to get into the waist on the cover and get wet-or she gets wet in the back when her clothes get under the air flap and get wet. But that is mainly bc my baby has such a small waist, not a defect in the product. If she had a normal tubby baby tummy and slept more still, she prob wouldn't get wet. I use regular prefolds (diaper service quality--those are great too!!!!!! ) I have been using Bumkins wraps and prefolds since my baby was 4 months old.

Author: Laura (Summertown, TN) These covers have been great, for all the reasons other people have mentioned and more. I don't have a washing machine and these are really easy to clean in the sink in an emergency. And eventhough you can't put them in the dryer, they dry almost just as fast anyway because of the non-absorbent material (I use a hairdryer set on low to quick dry sometimes.) I gave these covers 5 stars, cause they're the best of all the covers I've tried!
|
Author: Tessa (Russellville, AR) I would say these diaper covers are perfect for the more slender baby. They are very leak-proof, and so many adorable patterns to choose from! I rated the product below excellent for me because these covers aren't quite as soft as the prowraps or bummis, and they leave red marks on my baby's back where the elastic is.
|
Author: Elizabeth (Kansas City, MO) These are the BEST! I bought 6 different types of diaper covers and ended up only useing this type!
|
Author: Anita (Sunnyvale, CA) I switched to these when my daughter was 1 year old, mainly becuase the large covers that we had were too big in the legs for her. She's got such a skinny butt and legs. We use these for daytime use, and the old ones for nighttime, since they'll hold a doubled diaper better. These worked perfectly to contain the regular pees and poops, though messy poops do seem to escape, but really, what cover can hold THAT mess???
|
Author: Sarah Stevenson I have used these diaper covers thru two children and they still work wonderful! I love them so much I tell all my friends about them. They are very easy to use (even my husband can use them) and I have had no blowouts that I can remember (unlike storebought disposables). I have had some problems with the velcro on one of my covers but what do you expect after using it for 3 years. They wash up great too.
|
Author: amy stevenson (mukilteo, wa) I have been using these covers since my daughter (20 months) was born. We started with Bummies and Prowraps. I like these the best and so does my husband. The white ones do stain. I even dry mine on low and have had no problems. The patterns are cute and I really have no complaints.

Author: Eileen I have been using Bumkins almost exclusively with my 3 kids. I tried out a variety initially but found Bumkins to be the most leak-proof. They last an amazingly long time. I lent my diapers to a friend, who used them with one child between my second and third. I am going to need to replace the larges soon, but considering they've lasted through 3 1/2 kids, I consider that to be excellent quality, especially considering how long the larges have been used. My kids have all had chunky legs (especially the first and third) and have had no problems with fit. Sometimes they have wound up with red marks around the legs, but I found that making sure the covers were rinsed better in the wash made a difference. These are a fantastic value.
